CodeBase is a tech ecosystem support organisation and startup incubator that helps people build better tech startups. We help people build and grow better tech startups through community, education, and workspace. 

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for an experienced Systems Manager with strong knowledge of CRM systems. You’ll understand the importance of capturing the most important data, from the relevant people and organisations, at the right times, to accurately evaluate the Techscaler activities.

You’ll have a collaborative approach to data management and use your excellent communication skills to work with colleagues and external organisations. You’ll be motivated to spec, create, adapt and maintain user friendly systems which ensure that data input requirements are clear, consistent and manageable.

Our Systems Manager will be someone who understands how to structure quantitative and qualitative data for use across the business in a scalable way, and can identify and highlight feedback which may benefit from further investigation. You’ll take pride in presenting data in a format which is easily comprehensible without losing nuance.

What will you be doing?

  • Designing, managing and monitoring projects to improve customer data related programs and CodeBase internal data systems
  • Advising on the data required to report on KPIs and how best to collect them
  • Integrating our data with our CRM Hubspot and working with marketing to build and maintain workflows
  • Building dashboards and internal tools using Retool
  • Maintaining our PostgreSQL database using Supabase
  • Liaising with departments across CodeBase to ensure reporting data is relevant and useful
  • Working with external suppliers and agencies to develop software data management systems and processes
  • Managing data integration, data matching and alignment
  • Ensuring data collection and storage methods meet GDPR requirements
  • Managing manual data inputting resources

What do we need from you?

  • Strong software development skills – experience across the software stack; managing and transforming data objects using Javascript or Python, comfortable with using REST and PostgREST APIs, building and querying relational databases
  • Experience of working between functions within an organisation, including Senior leadership, IT and Marketing
  • Knowledge of CRM systems including data structures, reporting and their use
  • Experience of translating software requirements into data structures
  • Experience of leading on organising and structuring data for optimal reporting
  • Experience of working with both quantitative and qualitative data reporting
  • Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues in person and remotely

Please also tell us if you have:

  • Experience of managing, configuring and developing data integration and automation tools eg. Zapier, Make.com, Hubspot Workflows
  • Experience of building deployment processes, using CI/CD pipelines e.g. Jenkins, Github Actions
  • Experience of managing software infrastructure, e.g. building with AWS Google Cloud Platform, Azure
  • Experience with front end development with a modern web framework eg React, Vue, Astro, Next.Js, Sveltekit
  • Experience of customising AI LLMs with vector databases
  • Knowledge of working with low-code and nocode frontend tools, eg; WeWeb, Bubble, Retool
  • An understanding of or interest in the tech startup ecosystem

What will you get?

  • £45k per annum
  • 4 day working week (please note that this role will require out of hours working from time to time for which you will receive time off in lieu)

About the job

Work Days: This role is 28 hours a week over 4 days (day off to be decided with line manager), 9am – 5pm. 

Location: This role can be based at one of our regional hubs, with regular travel to other hub locations across Scotland. We are open to discussion about Remote and Hybrid working options.
