Reporting to the Director of HR, Commercial & Business Units, the Sr. HR Business Partner, EMEA Commercial provides HR Business Partner (HRBP) support to the EMEA region’s local Commercial and Business Unit organizations in IDT. This role will serve as the most senior HR Business Partner in the EMEA region providing local site indirect leadership to the EMEA HR organization while also acting as a strategic partner to Sr. leadership. The focus of this role is supporting the IDT associate experience in EMEA and enabling IDT to achieve strategic objectives by enhancing leadership and organizational effectiveness through the acquisition of talent, performance management, associate development, retention, and engagement, and organizational structure and design. The individual in this position must be able to link human resources strategies to business objectives, counsel and advise management on a variety of topics related to talent including design and implementation of training, performance management, and organizational design and ensure compliance with a dynamic labor landscape. This position may participate in or lead projects of moderate complexity for IDT globally. This position must forge strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders, including the Human Resources Center of Excellence, HR Operations organization, legal, and the local works councils.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and collaborate local employee relations matters and support investigations in various countries providing. Anticipate challenges and recommend innovative solutions, in partnership with Sr. leadership for problems of moderate complexity across a spectrum of human capital related challenges.
  • Support associate engagement, retention, and development by implementing programmatic approaches as well as coaching. Consult with leaders on talent and organizational design challenges, including supporting organizational goals on developing a robust internal talent pipeline.
  • Drive successful execution of the performance management process within assigned client groups including supporting performance calibration sessions; coaching leaders on tough conversations; creating performance improvement plans and development plans.
  • Act as a resource to interpret and provide guidance in relation to EMEA employment laws and practices in various regions and provide indirect support to local EMEA HR team through informal coaching and providing guidance regarding local business/HR practices.
  • Collaborate with clients on internal movement decisions; transfers, promotions, job enhancements and ensure decisions are aligned with talent and skill gaps, development plans and career pathing while ensuring movement aligns with company leveling guides and policy.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • 7 + years’ experience as a HR Business Partner, including several years’ experience coaching and influencing senior leaders; sophisticated skills in mediating, negotiating, coaching, and social contracting.
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational design initiatives such as restructuring or organizational transformations in a complex cross-functional environment; experience social contracting with senior leaders to appropriately prioritize, develop timelines in view of competing priorities, and scope projects.
  • Strongly developed business acumen; Sr HRBP must be able to understand and articulate IDT’s strategy, and to translate that strategy into understanding of a client group / function(s) critical focus areas.
  • Experience leading others, whether directly or indirectly, and demonstrated ability to cultivate a team environment and trusting and productive working relationships.
  • Experience working with local works councils including but not limited to, negotiation processes, organization design, development, and collaboration with council to represent on behalf of IDT contractual employment elements; Background and experience interpreting local employment laws in Belgium, Germany, France, and/or the U.K.

It would be a plus if you had previous experience in:

  • Certified practitioner in DBS Fundamentals, or Certified Trainer in DBS Leadership courses
  • Experience coaching senior leaders on their development plans, and those of their associates, in an environment where D4G and P4G adoption remains nascent
  • Bi-lingual, fluency in English and in one of the following: Dutch, German or French.
