Job Title: Location: Remote – Sherburn in Elmet, North Yorkshire OR Peterborough, Cambs, UK

(Predominantly a home based role, with on average quarterly meetings in the office)

At AB Agri, we take pride in being at the forefront of innovation in the agricultural sector. As a specialist provider of high-quality ruminant feed and nutritional solutions, we are seeking a motivated and pro-active product specialist to join our friendly and knowledgeable team.

This is a key role within the moist feed team, focused on the day-to-day product management of brewer’s grains whilst being the main contact between KW and all ruminant accounts within the retail segments. It will be a varied, highly commercial role within the progressive moist category, managing contracts and positions effectively, promoting sales, retention and new business, all key to the success of our rationing and retail business plan.

We are looking for a pro-active approach to ensure full stock utilisation for all 3 breweries we work with, understanding market trends, whilst building positive customer and supplier relationships to enable the business to be as commercial and efficient as possible.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Maintain all sites to suppliers’ satisfaction, while building appropriate relationships. Ensuring constant review of moist feed production to ensure stock is sold on in the most commercially effective ways.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with direct to farm customers within retail segments across the UK, with ownership of aligned accounts.
  • You will work as part of the Moist team to achieve / exceed Budget, maintaining contracts and positions effectively, maximizing profitability through pricing while promoting sales, retention, and new business within this sector.
  • Be a key driver in sharing market insight across your aligned Customers to take advantage of market opportunities.
  • Maintain the product sales and purchase contracts with integrity to meet the needs of customers and suppliers.
  • Adhere to business sales processes and maintain AX and database systems to facilitate the targeting and segmenting of customers and prospects to maximize contribution.
  • Adhere to the required trading controls.

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous B2C Sales experience, ideally within a agricultural, animal feed or raw material background.
  • Previous experience of building relationships with 3rd party suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Previous Product management experience would be beneficial.
  • Practical commercial experience used to working in a target based environment.
  • An understanding of the fundamental drivers of the UK agriculture industry.
  • Comprehensive analytical and organisational skills with good commercial awareness and the ability to interpret market data and emerging trends.
  • Working as part of the team with a collaborative and consistent approach.
