About the role – Junior Full Stack Engineer

At Feefo, the power of reviews drives us. Insights from consumer feedback not only enable brands to improve their offerings but also help consumers make well-informed choices. Managing thousands of reviews daily requires robust, scalable, and efficient software. We are seeking an enthusiastic Junior Full Stack Engineer to join our team and contribute to our leading SaaS product under the guidance of experienced technical leaders.

Responsibilities:

As a Junior Full Stack Engineer, you will:

• Work within an agile development squad, following agile methodologies to develop features that are performant and scalable.
• Develop and maintain Java-based applications, focusing on learning microservices architecture and Spring Boot.
• Assist in integrating RESTful APIs and collaborate with the front-end team.
• Gain proficiency in front-end development with JavaScript frameworks, particularly React.
• Participate in software support, maintenance, enhancements, and bug fixing.
• Engage in writing unit tests and practice Test-Driven Development (TDD) under the mentorship of senior engineers.
• Contribute to technical documentation and participate in knowledge-sharing activities.
• Support the Cloud Infrastructure Team in basic DevOps functions.

Requirements:

• BSc in Computer Science or a similar technical discipline, and 2 years of relevant internship or project experience.
• Understanding of or exposure to Java and interest in mastering front-end technologies like React.
• Basic knowledge of REST APIs and server-side development.
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Eagerness to learn cloud-based services and SaaS environments.

Desirable:

• Interest in cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
• Enthusiasm for learning high throughput API development and automated testing tools.
