Key Responsibilities:
It will be of critical importance to understand each of the business areas that you support and their own individual strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to provide the necessary HR support.
More specifically it is expected that the HR Business Partner will:
- Contribute to and support the implementation of the HR Strategy by working with managers to improve service delivery
- Effectively manage and co-ordinate the management of disciplinaries, appeals, grievances, sickness absence, redundancies and a range of employment and employee relations matters ensuring legislation, policy and best practice are followed.
- Coach, support, mentor and challenge managers in the application of HR policies and practices and on a wide range of employment related issues, promoting best practice and encouraging greater ownership. This will include providing advice and guidance on HR issues in order to minimise risk and financial exposure.
- Manage and maintain contracts, personnel files and other employee information.
- Regularly corresponding with employees verbally and in writing
- Be adaptable in fast growing and fast paced environment with the ability to manage and prioritise complex workloads
- Investigate and manage payroll queries
- Partner multiple business units, reporting on key areas of the business with robust analysis and recommendations that can provide sustainable solutions
- Be responsible for the end to end recruitment process
- Be responsible for ensuring that absenteeism is managed through the absence management policy for both short and long term cases, including occupational referrals as applicable
- Work independently in supporting the business on all HR activity independently or with minimal support
- Support and mentor junior colleagues and knowledge share within the wider team
Person Specification:
- Proven experience in HR partnering within a complex organisation with multiple disciplines and requirements
- CIPD level 5 part or hold a relevant HR qualification
- Ability to build string relationships and maintain these
- Ability to identify key issues and give advice within the scope of employment legislation and within areas of knowledge / capability.
- Understanding and recognising limitations in knowledge and seeking advice where appropriate.
- Understanding of M&A and TUPE
- Proficient in IT software such as Microsoft packages
- Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to deal effectively and establish rapport with people at all levels.
- Professional approach and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Team player with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and develop
- Full UK driving licence
