Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations (ER) Case Management: Take the lead on managing a wide range of ER issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, appeals, sickness absence, mobility, and restructuring. Ensure all processes are conducted in line with current legislation, company policy, and best practices, preparing essential documentation such as invite and outcome letters, manager guidance templates, and attending meetings where necessary.
- HR Policy Guidance and Manager Coaching: Act as a trusted advisor to managers across the E&P Division, providing expert guidance on HR policies and employment-related issues. Support and challenge managers to apply HR best practices, encouraging greater ownership and reducing risks. Offer tailored coaching and advice, particularly on complex cases that require a nuanced approach.
- Contract and Employee Information Management: Oversee the management and maintenance of employment contracts, personnel files, and other employee-related information. Conduct regular reviews to ensure contractual terms are accurate and up-to-date, particularly during recruitment and when capturing changes for existing staff. Keep the E&P terms matrix current and accurate.
- Learning and Development Support: Direct managers to relevant resources on LearningPool, focusing on common HR themes such as performance development reviews (PDRs), probation management, and managing absence. Provide follow-up coaching for more complex situations to ensure managers are fully equipped to handle HR issues effectively.
- Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Work closely with other members of the E&P HR team to share outcomes, best practices, and insights from various HR cases. Contribute to a collaborative environment by sharing case notes, reviewing letters, and escalating more complex issues to Senior HR Business Partners when necessary.
- Payroll and Holiday Pay Management: Investigate and resolve payroll queries, ensuring accuracy in payroll notes reporting and zero-hour holiday pay calculations. Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure timely and correct payments, addressing any discrepancies as they arise.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven ER Expertise: Demonstrable experience in leading and managing a diverse range of employee relations cases, with a strong track record of achieving positive outcomes. You should be comfortable navigating complex situations and advising confidently within your areas of expertise.
- Employment Legislation Knowledge: A deep understanding of UK employment legislation is essential, along with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively in your advice and decision-making. You should be skilled at identifying key issues, offering sound advice, and recognising when to seek additional guidance.
- Adaptability: Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment where priorities can shift rapidly. You should be adept at managing and prioritising a complex workload, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and within deadlines.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation. You should be confident in establishing rapport with stakeholders, handling sensitive information discreetly, and influencing decisions in a professional manner.
- Professional Development and Learning: A willingness to continuously learn and develop professionally, staying up-to-date with the latest HR practices and employment law changes. CIPD Level 5 or a relevant HR qualification is required.
- IT Proficiency: Competency in Microsoft Office and other HR-related software is essential, ensuring you can manage documentation, communications, and data effectively.
- Full UK Driving Licence: This role is home based remote role but involves travel across the country, a full UK manual driving licence is required.
Salary And Benefits
- Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum
