Zanda is an Executive Search partner that works exclusively with high growth start-ups as they look to scale their business with senior talent. Zanda is supporting a B2B SaaS scaleup headquartered in London that’s recently gone through it’s Series B fundraising round. With their technology generating revenue across a number of enterprise customer contracts, they’re now embarking on a strategic growth journey. The CFO and wider leadership team now seeks a Director of Finance and Operations taking on a newly created role within the business. They’re seeking a technically skilled finance leader with excellent communication and leadership skills to join the business, with the goal of enhancing insights and support across finance operations, payroll and employee reward and benefits. This role will play a crucial part in navigating the business to sustainable growth. The ideal candidate will seek to enjoy a broad, hands-on role working with the colleagues and the business on a day to day basis to build the best finance operations and payroll function possible. Key Responsibilities: Work with the CFO and executive team to establish more effective processes and controls across all areas of financial operations, payroll and employee benefits. Lead on the implementation of a strategic vision for the financial operations, payroll and employee benefits function. Create, manage, and report the company financial business model that will guide the company and be central to a future fundraising processes. Support the CFO across the full life-cycle of any potential M&A activity. Leading business budgeting and forecasting to support short, medium and long-term business and cashflow planning in collaboration with all key stakeholders. Review and analyse performance including establishing relevant KPI & SaaS metrics reporting. Provide the wider leadership team with support to achieve their objectives and collaborate to deliver business goals, such as detailed product and customer analytics. Embed a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Summarize budget trends, analyse deficiencies, and report variances to executives. Play an ad-hoc key role in delivering proposals on commercial opportunities. What background should you have before you press apply! Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, CPA or ACCA). Prior experience in a startup, scaleup or high growth SME. Leadership skills to inspire and guide a range of stakeholders, fostering innovation. Tech enabler, proactive attitude and collaborative mindset. Ability to work in a fast-moving, dynamic environment while maintaining high-quality work with attention to detail. Understanding of complex HR and Finance principles. Track record of managing global payroll and benefits operations. Solid knowledge of standard accountancy and finance best practices. In-depth knowledge of budgeting and financial forecasting. Commercially minded with a hands-on, proactive approach.
