We’re supporting a fast-growing Stockholm-based fintech startup in finding a talented Data Scientist. You’ll be instrumental in leveraging AI and data-driven insights to create highly personalized user experiences. This role offers the flexibility of working remotely from anywhere, contributing to a product that’s redefining how consumers manage their finances.

This startup is in an exciting growth phase, with a small, dedicated team of around 10 people. They’re building a cutting-edge financial platform that focuses on simplifying money management through personalized and intuitive design. The company operates on a remote-first model, allowing you to work from anywhere, supported by an external payroll service provider.

About the Role

As a Data Scientist, you’ll play a key role in shaping the personalized experience for users by developing and implementing advanced AI models. Your work will involve analyzing user data to create tailored financial recommendations, optimizing algorithms for real-time decision-making, and continuously improving the platform’s ability to meet individual user needs.

What you’ll do:

  • AI model development: Design and implement machine learning models that drive personalization, such as recommendation systems and predictive analytics.
  • Data analysis: Analyze user behavior and financial data to uncover patterns, trends, and insights that can be used to enhance the user experience.
  • Algorithm optimization: Continuously refine and optimize algorithms to improve accuracy and efficiency in delivering personalized financial recommendations.
  • A/B testing: Design and conduct A/B tests to evaluate the impact of new features and algorithms, ensuring that data-driven decisions lead to tangible improvements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to integrate data science solutions into the product, ensuring seamless implementation and real-time responsiveness.
  • Data infrastructure: Collaborate with the data engineering team to ensure that the data infrastructure supports scalable and efficient data processing and model deployment.
  • User feedback integration: Use user feedback and data to iteratively improve AI models and ensure they align with user needs and preferences.

Who you are:

  • Experienced: 3+ years of experience in data science, with a strong background in machine learning and AI, preferably in fintech or a related field.
  • Proficient in tools: Skilled in Python, R, TensorFlow, and other relevant data science tools and libraries. Familiar with data processing frameworks like Spark.
  • Data-driven: Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • AI-focused: Experience in developing and deploying AI models, particularly in the context of personalization and recommendation systems.
  • Collaborative: Comfortable working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and engineers, to deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Self-starter: Thrives in a remote-first, fast-paced startup environment where you can take initiative and drive innovation.
