In our cross-functional product teams, Data Engineers work directly with Product Owners to build meaningful Analytics and insights into data. We are a true Fintech with a strong engineering culture and focus on innovation and agile methodology. We use a modern AWS-based serverless services to build and maintain our data platform.

As a Data Engineer at Wealth Wizards you are empowered to own the datalake platform: designing the datalake, writing code, building automated tests, building QuickSight dashboards and running the system in production.

The Role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to be part of our exciting data engineering team. The team owns tools and journeys that run the data platform.

As a Data Engineer you will have a very close working relationship with Product Teams & Customer Engagement teams. Through this collaboration you will understand the product requirements and roadmap in depth, and provide essential technical input and ideas to the event design and discovery process.

You will contribute to design discussions within the team, write code, pair with others, review PRs, solve problems, and ensure a high standard of quality. You will also assist in monitoring the services in production. You will report directly to the Lead Data Engineer and work collaboratively with Product Managers and other team members to deliver high-quality software solutions

Your Experience

• Hands on experience in building analytics workload in the cloud
• 6+ years working in an Data Analytics Project(s)
• Proven experience of Service Delivery and Service Monitoring within a commercial environment
• Strong AWS experience – essential
• Python experience – essential
• AWS Data Analytics Specialty is a big plus
• Infrastructure as Code tools – Pulumi, Terraform, CloudFormation etc
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines with one of the following GitLab, GitHub (GitLab is preferred).
• ETL technologies like Glue, Spark
• Streaming solutions like Kinesis, Kafka
• BI and Analytics Tools e.g. PowerBI, Quicksight etc
• Experienced in SQL and Data Structures
• Building analytics pipelines using automation scripts
• Big Data Storage Platforms (Hadoop, Amazon EMR) and Data Warehousing (Amazon Redshift, Snowflake)
• Considerable experience in participating in agile teams – highly desirable
• A background in Pensions & Advice/Fintech experience – strongly preferred
