Job Summary

Are you up to making a strategic difference for a highly ambitious international company in Testing, Inspection and Certification aiming to double in size in coming years, also involving 10-15 acquisitions per year? Do you aspire to take responsibility for searching and analyzing market opportunities, forming partnerships, setting up joint ventures and managing possible acquisitions? Then you might well be Kiwa’s new Corporate Development Officer.

About The Role

As a Corporate Development Officer you will play a key role in driving Kiwa Group’s international growth through managing mergers and acquisitions (M&A), market analysis as well as supporting in strategic planning.You will be end to end Project Manager in M&A processes.

Therefore, you will continuously scan Kiwa’s competitive landscape to identify opportunities and map market changes and trends. You’ll perform in-depth company analyses (e.g. financial projections, profiles), contribute to valuation analyses (e.g. DCF, multiples) and be involved in additional financial modelling. It will be your responsibility to scout companies around the globe that add professional, client and market value to Kiwa in order to form partnerships, joint ventures or enter into a merger or acquisition.

Your Responsibilities

  • Market Analysis:
    • Continuously monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
    • Perform in-depth company analyses, including financial projections, profiles, and valuation analyses.
    • Use insights from market research to inform strategic decisions and actions.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions:
    • For selected M&A cases: act as Project manager overseeing the entire M&A process from target identification and due diligence to deal structuring and integration planning.
    • For some cases; act more as in a co-ordinating / M&A expert role who ensures that the process runs well and in accordance with the M&A guidelines.
    • Collaborate with legal, financial and tax internal and external teams to develop transaction structures, pricing, payment terms, and other key aspects of deals.
    • Develop M&A guidelines and templates. Ensure adherence to the guidelines.
    • Deal sourcing: actively partake in building and maintaining an acquisition candidate pipeline. Contact actively potential acquisition candidates.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ensure effective communication and alignment of interests among stakeholders.
  • Financial Analysis and Modelling:
    • Develop detailed financial models and scenarios to support decision-making.
    • Monitor and analyze the financial performance of potential acquisition targets and other strategic initiatives.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Contribute to the corporate strategic plan for mergers and acquisitions.
    • Analyze market trends, identify potential targets or partners, and evaluate risks and benefits of various transactions.
    • Align corporate development activities with Kiwa Group’s long-term goals.
    • Development projects.
    • When needed, carry out development projects on various topics connected to Kiwa’s performance improvement.

We also expect your willingness and ability to travel to Kiwa locations.

What Background You Need

For this position, we’d like you to bring these educational and personal skills:

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance, or Econometrics.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in business development, preferably within a technical environment.
  • Proven experience in mergers and acquisitions, including preparation and execution.
  • Excellent knowledge and skills in Microsoft Excel and other financial modelling tools.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Proficiency in Dutch is a plus, but not mandatory, proficiency in at least one additional relevant language is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
  • You are based in the Netherlands and allowed to work here.
