The role of Data Business Analyst (Data Services) is to support the continuous delivery of strategic projects and initiatives within the Data Services team which owns the Customer Data Lake. The CDL is the core repository of Reach customer data and supports multiple teams across Reach. The Data Business Analyst reports to the Senior Product Manager (Data Services).
Please note, this is a 12 month fixed term contract position.

Role Location
This is a remote position, and so we are therefore open to candidates based across the UK.
Job Description
The Business Analyst is a key member of the Data Services team. They work directly with the Data Service engineering team, other teams across the Data and Analytics division and other technical teams and business stakeholders across Reach.
At the direction of the Senior Product Manager they will:
- Assist the Senior Product Manager in liaising with stakeholders, including external vendors, Reach data source owners, users, the BI Analytics team, the Data Governance and Quality team and other Product teams within Reach.
- They will support the Data Services team as necessary and as directed by the Senior Product Manager: with analysis and investigation work to support BAU and continuous technical improvement projects.
- They may be asked to perform additional appropriate ad-hoc tasks to support the work of the Data Services team or associated teams.
Ideal Candidate
- Professional experience in Business Analysis, preferably within data focused roles delivering technical/digital products
- Experience in working with Cloud technologies (AWS an advantage, but GCP/Azure/other also useful)
- Ability to operate as the interface between technical and non-technical teams
- Experienced in user story mapping and documentation (Jira/Confluence) and awareness of Data Governance considerations (especially GDPR)
- Experienced in functional/non-functional requirements gathering and definition using appropriate artefacts
- Ability to work effectively in a remote team with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be highly organised coupled with a proactive and curious approach to data and its value
- Ability to communicate and influence effectively across all levels of the business
Desirable
- Knowledge of SQL e.g. writing queries/data-mapping
- Experience in quantifying business value of data sources by collating and assessing key metrics
