Brief Description

The Business Operations Lead (GPD) will lead a team and be responsible for providing organizational, logistical and administrative support to Global Pharmaceutical Development (GPD) organization.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as business operations lead for Global Pharmaceutical Development (GPD) to collaboratively improve and optimise business processes for operational consistency and efficiency
  • Set up performance metrics and key performance indicators for the group.
  • Analyze, monitor and report performance metrics for the group.
  • Manage and drive departmental meetings, agenda planning, and action items.
  • Manage and support team members in contracting and procurement related activities.
  • Manage the process for accruals and budgeting for development projects by liaising with CMC teams.
  • Manage and coordinate Operational Excellence activities for the group.
  • Facilitate active communication and information flow between team members, stakeholder functions, and business partners.
  • Serve as training coordinator for the group.
  • Manage and maintain GPD sharepoint site.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to business and process problems across GPD
  • Deliver scalable solutions that integrate within existing process ecosystem
  • Utilize operational excellence principles to deliver simplified processes with reduced complexity and improved efficiency.
  • Keep GPD Leadership team informed of significant problems which might jeopardize the achievement of objectives.
  • Build strong working relationships with GPD team and stakeholders to ensure the business is supported to achieve our objectives.
  • Protect the interest of the Company in accordance with policies and governmental laws and regulations.
  • The role is expected to support an organizational culture that promotes behaviors that lead to superior business performance and organizational excellence.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Strong IT skills, including experience with Sharepoint, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Powerpoint. Experience with Coupa is advantageous.
  • Must have a “can do” attitude and be able to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Flexible thinking and adaptable
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, influence, change management and consensus building skills
  • Operational excellence and change management knowledge and experience is essential
  • Be resourceful, proactive, assertive, and self-motivated
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to execute on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to drive projects forward work on own initiative and work with a cross-functional team
  • Track record of successful collaboration with cross functional teams.

  • Work within legal and compliance guidelines

Required/Preferred Education And Licenses

  • The position requires a degree in business, science, engineering or other relevant discipline with 10+ years experience in business operations environment
  • The position requires experience in providing organizational and business support, preferably in pharmaceutical industry.
