Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Cloud Specialist. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing our Google Cloud Platform setup, integrating it with various tools used across the business, and centralising data to streamline processes. Your efforts will pave the way for building AI applications, ensuring our systems are robust, efficient, and primed for future success. Responsibilities

Champion Data Integration:

  • Advise on the development roadmap of Locaria’s CGP
  • Execute the configuration of Locaria’s GCP to fulfil business requirements

Uphold Data Excellence

  • Ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance by guiding data governance strategy.
  • Translate regulatory requirements like GDPR into compliant code solutions.

Performance & Compliance Accountability

  • Monitor and maintain the performance of the cloud environment.
  • Be responsible for audit logs and compliance, and take corrective action when needed.

Experience

Required Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in data roles
  • 2 + years of data / cloud engineering in GCP / Azure / AWS

Technical Expertise

  • Strong proficiency in REST APIs, SQL, Python, and BASH/Shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git)
  • Familiarity with software as Infrastructure Solutions (ie: Terraform).

Initiative

  • Self-starter with a passion for data integrity and compliance.

Data Processing

  • Strong experience in ETL/ELT processes, data streaming, batch processing, CI/CD pipelines, performance optimization, and data quality assurance.

Cloud Infrastructure Design

  • Experience designing and delivering scalable cloud infrastructure (lots of bonus points if this was utilising Google Cloud Platform)
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow and Cloud Composer.

Language Proficiency

  • Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken.
