We are seeking a 3 G5 Officers to join the People Relations and Engagement Team within the Strategy, Transformation & Assurance Directorate.

You will put teamwork at the heart of what you do and be part of a positive, inclusive, supportive environment where your team, and customers, feel valued.

These roles will work as part of a collaborative four-way relationship, working alongside Defra group HR professionals, working with local and national Environment Agency teams and our Trade Unions, to both shape and support the implementation of the organisation-wide approach to deliver our People Strategy. Working across a range of stakeholders and business partners you will support the delivery of work across the whole team, with a primary focus on one of the following:

Employee Relations (Trade Union): This role will support, advise and manage relationships with our Trade Unions and stakeholders.

Pay Gap Reporting & EqIA: This role will commission work, gather intelligence and advise work on our Reward Strategy and Pay, including pay gap reporting and EqIA.

Project Planning: This role will lead on planning for the team, particularly programme planning for the Reward and Transformation Programme.

The team

People Relations and Engagement Team situated within the Strategy, Transformation & Assurance Directorate, delivers effective services for our customers and people that enable better EA2025 outcomes, ensuring the EA is sustainable and fit for the future.

Team responsibilities include pay, employee offer, reward strategy, and engagement with Trade Unions.

We are nationally dispersed, working remotely, meeting in person quarterly or more regularly when business need requires. Applicants from across the business are encouraged to apply.

Contact and additional information

As a national role the office location is flexible. The role may require travel for meetings in other Agency and Supply Partner offices. Overnight may also be necessary from time to time.  The team is dispersed so train travel every 1-2 months is required.
