Senior Python / React Developer – AI, API, and Charting

Role purpose

• To develop an AI-based platform to extract data from financial documents, process the data using complex algorithms and store this data in an appropriate database.
• To develop an API which can manage the requesting and transporting of data from the database to a front-end application.
• To develop a secure front-end application which displays queried data via a visual UI with search and charting capabilities.

Accountabilities & Deliverables

• Contribute to the design and development of software components within a defined quality standard
• Resolve issues, defects and queries raised at any phase of development or production in a timely and professional manner
• Follow configuration management processes to deploy code
• Understand and follow the development processes, protocols, methods and tools
• Provide sizing on technical development tasks
• Report progress regularly, escalating matters as appropriate

Key Relationships

• You will work very closely with the project team, to deliver your joint project goals
• You will liaise with your Technical Project Manager, ensuring development is completed within agreed quality levels

Core Skills, Knowledge And Attributes

• Experience of a project through the life cycle of development and into production
• Experience of SCRUM and similar Agile methodologies
• Knowledge and experience in developing within an object-oriented development environment
• Knowledge and experience in developing within an agile project framework
• Knowledge of source control, release management (automated or otherwise), task management and working within a team environment (including application lifecycle management)
• Knowledge of unit testing and general test automation
• Knowledge of Financial Services solutions, handling large amounts of financial data and accounting.

Strong Technical Knowledge of the following

• Python
• JavaScript / Typescript / React
• LLM AI Models
• APIs (REST architecture, asynchronous messaging patterns)
• MS SQL Server or other RDBMS

Knowledge Or Experience Of The Following Is Desirable

• Azure DevOps
• Build Pipelines
