We are seeking a Trade Union Relations Support Officer to permanently join the People Relations and Engagement Team within the Strategy, Transformation & Assurance Directorate.

You will put teamwork at the heart of what you do and be part of a positive, inclusive and supportive environment where your team, and customers, feel valued.

The People Relations and Engagement Team is an integral part of the organisation, leading on pay, employee offer, reward strategy, and engagement with Trade Unions. Working within a small and friendly team your main focus will be supporting our Trade Union engagement. We support and manage relationships with our Trade Unions, facilitating and negotiating pay, reward and policy changes, managing people issues, allowing the business to operate efficiently while ensuring the best for our people.

Your general tasks will range from coordinating, tracking and progressing actions, drafting presentation materials, forward look and central mailbox management, and attending and providing Secretariat support to meetings. You will also use your judgement, initiative and knowledge to communicate, regularly interacting with senior stakeholders and collaborating with our Trade Unions and Defra group partner professionals.

The role will suit someone who is passionate about people, is extremely organised, flexible, agile and a good communicator. You will work across virtual teams and a broad range of stakeholders. The team is dispersed and works remotely, meeting in person quarterly or more regularly when business need requires. Applicants from across the business are encouraged to apply.

The team

People Relations and Engagement Team sits within the Strategy, Transformation & Assurance Directorate and our team responsibilities include pay, employee offer, reward strategy, and engagement with Trade Unions. Experience/skills Required

You will have demonstrable experience in a coordinating administrative role and be comfortable working in a fast paced and agile environment.

Your experience will demonstrate the following:

You have clear written and verbal communication skills and can produce quality, accurate and clearly understood work through a variety of channels.

You have good IT skills including the ability to use Office365, ideally including SharePoint.

You’ll have an incident management objective in your development plan. We’ll support you to find an

incident role to suit your needs and circumstances. Appropriate training will be given.

The team is dispersed so train travel approximately once a month is required.

You’ll have an EA Office base location, as a national role the working location is flexible.
