This role will be responsible for undertaking analysis of business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insights to decision makers.

The post holder will identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. You will create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required/available data elements. You will support a cross functional teams of analysts to coordinate data analysis and our common report library. Working with the Lead Business Intelligence Analyst.

You will be familiar with the Microsoft SQL and Power BI toolsets and have experience in the provision of management information and data visualisation to business users, as well as the delivery and validation of structured datasets prepared on a schedule to a fixed format.

Role Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Business Intelligence Analyst and assist in the delivery of the reporting requirements to the business.
• Build data models based on the business definition of data sets, the relationships between different data elements and the business rules that govern the data.
• Create and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models.
• Define and deliver a suite of dashboards and reports across the business.
• Collaborate with other teams to integrate data systems and ensure data consistency, including data analysis and reporting.
• Develop models to support business users in self-service data interrogation.
• Develop data visualisations and dashboards to address key questions and metrics.
• Developing management reporting to user specifications
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data using a range of BI tools
• Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting to stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data governance practices.
• Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations based on data analysis

The ideal candidate will have the following essential qualifications, skills and experience

Skills and experience

• 2+ years experience working in a Business Intelligence analysis role or similar
• Strong background in PowerBI, Data Models and T-SQL
• Expertise in SQL and data modelling tools
• Stakeholder engagement : the ability to attend meeting and discuss / document business requirements
• A demonstrable experience of taking datasets and interpreting business operations and outcomes from the data and displaying information clearly in reports, predominantly using Microsoft PowerBI
• Excellent analytical and investigatory capability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science – or relevant experience
• Certified Data Management Professional
• Demonstrable qualifications relating to Microsoft Data Stack (SQL Server)
