Applied Systems
Associate Data Migration Engineers work under minimal supervision with Customer Services, Development, Implementation Leads, Consulting Services and other Applied Systems staff and customers. The primary role is to understand and meet brokers business needs to deliver successful migrations for our customers while meeting the expectations of their project timeline. Associate Data Migration Engineers research, test, create and update documentation, and implement new and improved quality control methods and procedures to work towards continuous improvement of data migrations and the overall success of the department.
Associate Data Migration Engineer s are mentored by a senior member of the Data team to enable their growth, development and success.
What You’ll Do
- Processes broker data
- Review broker data comparison reports against converted data and recommends action where required
- Assists the project team with reviewing the broker data and recommends solutions when applicable
- Works closely with Development for testing, follow up, and implementation of new software programs
- Consistently monitor and update the SharePoint by documenting all correspondence with assigned brokers
- Maintain open communication with all project stakeholders on the status of active conversion/merge/extraction/reconfigurations
- Manage Data Services related documentation with the required broker contacts
- Review completed conversion/merge/extraction/reconfiguration, analyse data and run integrity checks prior to finalising
- Develop contingency project plans when project needs rescheduling
- Assist with rectifing any conversion/merge/extraction/reconfiguration related situations that arise after the final conversion has been loaded
- Maintains and update Data Services documentation
- Participate in special projects or aid in the implementation of future technology as required by the Management team.
- Develop and communicate to fellow employees and management any possible improvements in departmental workflow and/or processes
What You’ll Need To Succeed
We’re looking for someone who:
- Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems Office
Your experience should include some or all of the following:
- Minimum 1 years Relational database, SQL language, data analyse and ETL experience.
- Intermediate SQL skills / capabilities
- Intermediate data analysis skills
- Competent in Microsoft, MS Office, Word, Excel and Access
- Strong personal integrity and teamwork skills
- High level of initiative, self-direction and accountability
- Intermediate Microsoft O/S , DOS and Dbase experience
- Good communication skills (verbal & written) and the ability to execute technical projects within deadlines
- Detail oriented, ability to multi-task
