Position Description

ESB Networks is seeking to recruit a Commercial Analyst as part of a team that is growing to meet increasing and evolving industry requirements. The Commercial Analyst will play a central role in supporting ESB Networks in delivering our ‘Networks for Net Zero’ strategy which seeks to transform the electricity distribution network and to empower customers to make choices and capitalise on opportunities to decarbonise their energy consumption.

The Commercial team has a fundamental role in this process through its direct engagement with large customers and in its role in developing and implementing policy associated with accessing the distribution network. The Commercial team is responsible for setting, maintaining, and implementing commercial policy and charges for users of the Distribution System and communicating with the wider ESB Networks (ESBN) business, customers and key stakeholders on these issues.

This is an exciting and challenging role within the Commercial Team, and requires an individual that is initiative-taking, with a strong background in either a commercial, legal, financial or engineering role who works well in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with other teams across ESBN to develop innovative commercial solutions that support our strategy and to ensure the commercial interests and risks of ESBN are protected.
  • Review and develop contractual arrangements to ensure that they meet current and emerging requirements.
  • Ensure that any contractual arrangements are consistent with wider commercial policy and to lead revision of Commercial Policy as required.
  • Engagement with external stakeholders, including customers, regulator, and government organisations, to ensure that new arrangements meet industry requirements.

Essential

Experience and Qualifications

  • 3rd Level qualification.
  • At least 5 years’ relevant work experience
  • Strong commercial focus
  • Ability to quickly review and understand regulated, commercial or contractual arrangements and have the ability to interpret and apply relevant terms as required.
  • Strong communications skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Highly motivated – able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Desirable

  • In-depth knowledge of the Irish electricity industry
  • Experience managing / negotiating commercial and contractual agreements and related documents.
  • A high level of technical competency and strong analytical skills.

Location

This position will be based in ESB’s Leopardstown Office,Dublin 18

Salary

Salary starting at €55,700
